This collection consists of material relating to the sale of the World War II veterans' bonus bonds. The collection includes a letter from E.F. Dunstan, vice president of Bankers Trust Company, New York, March 4, 1947, to the Finance Committee of the State Administrative Board regarding bid for bond issue; a $1000 specimen bond; a Wall Street journal article regarding the bond issue, Feb. 22, 1947; a Battle Creek enquirer and news editor's comment "What others think", regarding the bond issue; a photograph of Fred Alger and D. Hale Brake signing the bonds; and a photograph of the banker handing Brake the check for just under $200,000,000.
